Our Projects
Golden Futures currently runs three projects in Cambodia. We call these the support project, the long-term loans project, and the short-term loans project.
The long-term and short-term loans projects give the young people living in the orphanage the opportunity to borrow the money they need to follow their dreams. The support project gives them the information and skills they need to make them reality.
Here are some of the things we have achieved so far!
Long-term loans project
- Promoted education by supporting five young people in starting their university careers.
- Helped a prospective taxi driver take lessons and pass his driving test!
Short-term loans project
- Kept food on the table by providing start-up funding for a catering project.
- Helped a young chef start her own restaurant within the centre, catering for volunteers.
- Kept a tailor in the loop with his customers by providing a mobile phone.
- Let a young girl smooth out the creases in her life and get into work with a pair of hair straighteners.
- Enabled a group of three boys to show their artistic sides through a gallery project.
